1. Getting Started - Creating your Amazon Account

After you have completed the download and installation of Backazon, you need to create an Amazon Web Services account in order to back up to their data centers.  Backazon makes this process simple.

After installation and activation of the free trial, you can easily set up an account with Amazon using the convenient links from within Backazon.  When Backazon opens for the first time, you will be on the Status page.  This page is designed to give you a glance at basic backup and account information.  To get started using Backazon, an Amazon Web Services account must be created so that your data can be uniquely identified and safely stored at the Amazon Data Centers.

2.  Within the Settings window, click the Amazon Account Sign Up link and this will open the appropriate page at Amazon.com.  Notice that this will open a browser page outside of the Backazon software.  While you are creating the Amazon Web Services account, it will be convenient to have Backazon remain open in the background on your desktop.  After the Amazon Account Setup process, you will be given two security keys to enter into the Licensing page in Backazon.

4.  Once these steps are complete, minimize your browser and return to Backazon.  Click the AWS Access Key Identifiers link.

5.  This will immediately bring you to the Amazon.com page where you can get these two identifiers.   The image shows a sample of this Amazon page.  Notice on the right side of the window, there are two Access keys, both of which must be copied into Backazon before you can begin to use Amazon Web services.

Notice that one key is visible, the other is displayed only when you toggle the 'show' / 'hide' link in the Your Secret Access Key field.
