6. Crates - Backup Crate Overview

Backazon stores your data on the Amazon S3 servers in 'Crates'.  You are allowed to have up to 100 crates in your Amazon S3 account.

Your crate names must be unique and can be up to 250 characters.  Crates can be 'added to', 'restored from' and also completely removed from the Amazon servers if you wish.

When viewing crates, the crate name and other various information will appear.  Highlight any crate name and choose the View button to see the details of the files within that crate.  Crates can be created when you create a Backup Job or from the Add a Crate button, from within this window.  Crates added to the system will show in other related areas.  For example, a crate created in Back Up Jobs, will also show here.  A crate added here, will then be available in the Backup Job windows.  To add a crate from here, simply press the Add A Crate button.  All crates, stored at Amazon Simple Storage, require unique names.  Be sure to use a descriptive name as well as a unique one, for each crate that you create.

2.  Once the Crate is open, you can use the tree structure to either review or copy any drives, folders or individual files back to your computer, from the Amazon servers.

3.  Make your selection by highlighting the level you wish to review or restore.  All contents below the selected level, will be included when you copy back to your machine.

4.  Use the Delete button to delete that drive, folder or selected file(s) from the Amazon servers and your Crate.

NOTE:  When you are viewing, copying or deleting files from this location, you are modifying files stored on the Amazon servers and not your local machine.  Be aware that any 'copy' back from the Amazon servers to your machine, will create a 'download' charge from Amazon Web Services

5.  The final step, would be to review what actions are about to happen, based on your selected options.  Backazon will show you from what Can you are restoring from, where it was originally copied from your machine and the destination of where the file(s) will land, once you complete the copy.

6.  If you do nothing more at this screen, then Backazon will default to restoring your files to the location on your machine, from where they originally came.  Because of this, Backazon is set to NOT overwrite those existing files.  You must use the check box and select the Overwrite Existing Files option, in order for the restore to proceed to the original location.

7.  You also have the option to change the Copy To location.  Use the link that says Change and browse to a new location to restore your files.

8.  When your options are as you want them, press the Copy button to begin the restore.
