How Backazon Works
Backazon allows you to select which files to backup and when to back them up. Then, the Backazon engine automatically collects, compresses, encrypts, and transmits your important files over the Internet to a secure data center. Finally, there's a backup system that takes the worry and the work out of creating daily backups.

Step 1: Install Backazon

First, you need to download Backazon and install it on your Windows PC or server.
Then, you use Backazon to select which files you want to backup. You save these selections as a Backup Job.
Backup Jobs can be set to run on whatever schedule you want. You can backup some files every night while you backup other files once a month.
Step 2: Backazon Loads Files

The Backazon engine idles in the background until it is time to run one of your Backup Jobs.
Then, it finds and loads each file you've selected.
Backazon is an advanced multi-threaded program so it can process several files at the same time.
Step 3: Backazon Compresses Files

Each file Backazon processes is checked to see if it can be compressed. Except for music files and some graphics files which are already compressed, Backazon compresses your files so that they can be transmitted to the data center more quickly.
This compression is completely reversed when you restore files so that none of your data is lost.
Step 4: Backazon Encrypts Files

Backazon encrypts every file using the same Advanced Encryption System (AES) used by governments and banks. You provide a password to lock your files so that nobody else can decrypt them.
Your files are safe and secure even as they travel over the public Internet. Without your password, your files look like meaningless garbage.
Step 5: Backazon Transmits Files

After your files have been compressed and encrypted, they are sent over the Internet to the servers in the Amazon data centers.
These are the same servers that Amazon uses to run their highly successful online business, so you can be sure they are highly reliable and secure.
In fact, every file you send to Amazon is stored in two data centers. Even if something goes horribly wrong at one data center, your data will still be available from the second data center.
